The Checkup

The Checkup

Use our SpinDr coaches as a pitching coach or as another set of eyes alongside your existing pitching coach.

With The Checkup, you send your video and one of our SpinDr coaches will provide you personalized feedback on:

  1. SPINS
    1. If you're going to be working on your spins, confirm that you are practicing the correct way. Get the feedback and adjustments needed to get the most out of every breaking pitch! Drills and workouts will be provided to address any/all areas for improvement. Don't be good, be great!
    1. Pitching is hard and learning the pitching motion can be complicated and difficult at times.  Why not have a world-class instructor on call for you as you work through the program. Each check-in will confirm correct mechanics and will highlight any corrections that need to be made. Drills and workouts will be provided to address any/all areas for improvement.
  3. Or BOTH!

How it works:

  1. Shoot your video with your phone or camera;
  2. Download Google Chat and setup/login to an account;
  3. Text the video to your SpinDr coach by clicking on the link sent to your phone or email;
  4. Within 48 hours, receive customized video feedback via text or email of your spin/mechanics with accompanying proven drills/tips.

Access to the top pitching coaches in the world has never been easier or more affordable.

  • Film a video from the side AND the back, capturing the drill or portion of the pitching motion that you have questions about.

  • After purchasing your Checkup credit, you will receive a text with the name and bio of your SpinDr coach. Just respond to this text with your video.

  • Within 48 hours, your SpinDr coach will send a video response via text with drills, tips, and feedback to answer your questions.

*All SpinDr coaches were D1 All-American pitchers or coaches or were players or coaches on the USA National Team.

Do I need to use the front or the back camera on my phone?

You can use either. We have found it is easier to see all of the pitcher's motion when the phone is used to film in landscape mode.

How long should the Checkup video be?

As long as it needs to be in order for you to explain and demonstrate the areas where you would like some feedback. 2 minutes is usually more than enough time. If you need more time to explain, you can send an additional video up to 2 minutes in length.

What should I say in my Checkup video?

If it is your first Checkup, introduce yourself, tell us how old you are, how long you've been playing softball, and anything else you think we should know.

After that, explain to your Checkup coach what problem you are having. It could be a drill from the RecFirst Pitching Program, a specific pitch that you can’t seem to master, or a part of your mechanics that needs some fine-tuning.

What should I film?

Have a parent, sibling, or coach take a video from behind the pitcher AND from the pitcher’s ball-hand side while they are performing the motion/drill/pitch. You can take multiple videos and send them in the same text.

How long will it take to get a response to my Checkup video?

Our goal is to get you a response within 48 hours, if not sooner.
